The EFM plan of action consists of the educational priorities which are listed below. These goals have been defined by the faculty and ratified by the school council on 16 January 2008.
The faithful accomplishment of this plan will be periodically assessed based on criteria which have been decided upon and will be implemented by the administration and teachers of the school.
A. Students’ background
Goals:
-Consider the students’ level and social background when they first enroll
-Answer the needs of the students who have been accepted
-Facilitate the integration of each student, whether coming from a French speaking country, an English speaking country or another background
-Reinforce the awareness of the students - French is the language of reference at EFM
B. Study of languages
Goals:
-Develop communication skills in several languages
-Favor bilingual attitude at EFM, in an English speaking environment
-Increase the number of languages being taught, whether foreign, local or ancient
-Optimize the use of instructional tools
-Facilitate the taking of national exams (Filipino, British, American…)
C. Philippine culture
Goals:
-Create conditions for a better appreciation of the Philippine culture
-Make sure the students learn about the country and its features, history & culture, people & civilization
D. Ecologically correct attitudes
Goals:
-Define common projects for the promotion of a “green” EIS and encourage the
participation of all students at all levels
-Set-up conditions to promote a change of attitudes & habits
-Improve the awareness of all parties to environmental problems and encourage ecologically correct behaviors
-Create common projects that involve different subjects
E. Togetherness at European International School (EIS)
Goals:
-Encourage exchanges between Ecole Française de Manille (EFM) & German European School of Manila (GESM) teachers in view of organizing more common projects
-Tighten the links between EFM & GESM teachers of the same discipline – Sports, English, Sciences – Elementary and Secondary levels
-Promote the understanding & necessity to respect common rules at EIS
-Favor the administrative decisions jointly taken by EFM & GESM
-Establish better cooperation between students
F. Orientation of students
Goals:
-Organize guidance exchanges and meetings for the orientation of the students
who are planning higher studies either in the Philippines, France, or anywhere worldwide
-Provide information to the students who plan to transfer to a Philippine university
-Take into account the experience of former EIS students while advising about
career choices
-Determine equivalences at various levels between the Philippine and French systems of education
